CLD-001 is an ex vivo expanded, cord blood-derived hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) therapy. It is manufactured using a proprietary, chemically defined culture system that incorporates a novel small-molecule epigenetic modulator targeting histone lysine demethylases (KDMs). This epigenetic modulation enables a robust, approximately 400-fold expansion of functional, long-term repopulating hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs), phenotypically defined as CD201+CD34+CD45RA-Lineage- cells, while maintaining their multilineage reconstitution and engraftment potential. Developed by Cloudil, CLD-001 is designed to overcome the cell dose limitations inherent in conventional umbilical cord blood transplantation, aiming to improve engraftment kinetics and clinical outcomes for patients with hematologic malignancies. The platform also holds potential for peripheral blood-derived HSPC gene therapy and iPSC-derived hematopoietic stem cell production.
