CLDN6 RNA-LPX is an investigational RNA-based vaccine developed by Moderna, designed to target Claudin 6 (CLDN6), a protein found on the surface of various cancer cells. The drug utilizes a liposomal formulation (LPX) or Lipid Nanoparticle (LNP) delivery system to encapsulate messenger RNA (mRNA). Once administered, the mRNA instructs the patient's cells to produce the CLDN6 protein, which then acts as an antigen. This antigen presentation stimulates the body's immune system to recognize and mount a targeted attack against CLDN6-positive tumor cells, aiming to elicit a potent anti-tumor immune response. It is being investigated for the treatment of advanced solid tumors and is often studied in combination with CLDN6 CAR-T cell therapy to enhance its therapeutic effect.
