Overview

CLE-043 is a preclinical-stage small molecule drug candidate being developed by Clexio Biosciences for the treatment of epilepsy and Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). It acts as a positive allosteric modulator or opener of the KV7.2/3 (KCNQ2/3) potassium channels. By enhancing the activity of these channels, CLE-043 aims to stabilize neuronal excitability, providing both anticonvulsant and mood-stabilizing effects. The program has identified a lead compound and is currently undergoing preclinical development to evaluate its safety and efficacy profile for CNS indications.
