Overview

CLE-400 is a topical gel formulation of detomidine, a potent alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, being developed by Clexio Biosciences Ltd. It is primarily investigated for the treatment of chronic pruritus associated with notalgia paresthetica, a sensory neuropathy of the upper back. As a non-opioid and non-steroid small molecule, CLE-400 targets alpha-2 adrenergic receptors to modulate sensory signaling and alleviate itch. It is currently in Phase 2 clinical trials for notalgia paresthetica and is also being explored for other neuropathic conditions such as brachioradial pruritus, post-operative pain, and peripheral neuropathic pain.
