Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clearfil Protect Bond is a two-step, self-etching dental adhesive system developed by Kuraray Noritake Dental. It is the first bonding agent to incorporate the antibacterial monomer 12-methacryloyloxydodecylpyridinium bromide (MDPB), which provides a contact-killing effect against residual bacteria in the cavity preparation, thereby reducing the risk of secondary caries. The system also contains the 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate (10-MDP) monomer, which ensures high bond strength to enamel and dentin through chemical interaction with hydroxyapatite. Additionally, it features fluoride release properties to further protect the tooth structure. It is primarily indicated for use in direct composite resin restorations.
