Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ClearQ (CQ-QR3) is a photodynamic therapy (PDT) system developed by Anessa Pharma for the treatment of skin cancers, specifically Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC) and Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC). The system consists of a topical drug combination (photosensitizer) that is applied to the skin and subsequently activated by a specific light irradiation device. This activation generates reactive oxygen species that selectively destroy malignant cells while minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissue. The product is currently in clinical development, with the CQ-QR3 designation representing a milestone or later-stage iteration of the technology within Anessa Pharma's pipeline.
