Clematis mandshurica Maxim. herbal acupuncture solution (CM-HAS) is an herbal extract derived from the plant *Clematis mandshurica Maxim.* It has been traditionally used in Korean and Chinese medicine for hundreds of years to treat various inflammatory conditions, including arthritis, rheumatism, fever, edema, infections, and snakebite. Preclinical studies in rats with adjuvant arthritis have shown that CM-HAS exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and subsequently reducing the biosynthesis of prostaglandins E2 (PGE2) and D2 (PGD2).
