Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clenil Compositum is a combination pharmaceutical product containing **beclomethasone dipropionate** (a synthetic corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory activity) and **salbutamol** (a selective beta2-adrenoceptor agonist used as a bronchodilator). It is primarily indicated for the management and prevention of symptoms in asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and allergic respiratory conditions. Beclomethasone acts as a pro-drug, converted in the lungs to its active metabolite B-17-MP, exerting potent anti-inflammatory effects via glucocorticoid receptor agonism, which reduces airway swelling and irritation. Salbutamol rapidly relieves bronchospasm by stimulating beta2-adrenoceptors, leading to relaxation of airway smooth muscle and bronchodilation. The combination provides both quick relief of acute symptoms and long-term control of airway inflammation. The product is delivered by nebulization or aerosol. Developed and manufactured by Chiesi Pharmaceuticals[1][2][3][4][6][7][8].
