Clenox

Clenox is an anticoagulant medication containing enoxaparin sodium, a low molecular weight heparin (LMWH). It is primarily indicated for the prevention and treatment of harmful blood clots, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Additionally, it is used in the management of acute coronary syndromes, such as unstable angina and myocardial infarction (heart attack). The drug exerts its therapeutic effect by binding to and accelerating the activity of antithrombin III, which subsequently leads to the potent inhibition of coagulation factors Xa and IIa (thrombin). This mechanism disrupts the coagulation cascade, thereby preventing the formation and propagation of thrombi. Clenox is typically administered as a subcutaneous injection and is manufactured by Sanofi.
