Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CLEXZA is an oncology medication manufactured by Azista Bhutan Healthcare Limited that contains the active ingredient venetoclax. It is a small molecule inhibitor of the B-cell lymphoma 2 (BCL-2) protein, which plays a critical role in regulating programmed cell death (apoptosis). By selectively binding to BCL-2, venetoclax displaces pro-apoptotic proteins, thereby triggering the mitochondrial pathway of apoptosis in cancer cells that overexpress BCL-2. CLEXZA is provided as 100mg tablets for oral administration and is indicated for the treatment of various hematologic malignancies, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The product is manufactured at the Motanga Industrial Park in Bhutan as part of a joint venture between Azista Industries and Druk Holding and Investments.
