Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a combination medication that contains three active ingredients working synergistically to treat acne vulgaris. Clindamycin phosphate (1.2%) is a topical antibiotic that kills acne-causing bacteria and reduces inflammation. Tretinoin (0.025%) is a retinoid that normalizes follicular hyperkeratinization, enhances skin cell renewal, and has anti-inflammatory properties. Benzoyl peroxide (typically 5-6%) provides keratolytic, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory effects. Together, these ingredients address three of the four major pathogenic factors in acne: they reduce bacterial colonization, normalize follicular hyperkeratinization, and decrease inflammation, though they do not reduce sebum production[1][6].
