Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clinimix N9G15E is a parenteral nutrition solution developed by Baxter, designed for patients where oral or enteral nutrition is impossible, insufficient, or contraindicated. It is a sterile, non-pyrogenic solution provided in a dual-compartment bag: one compartment contains a 5.5% amino acid solution with electrolytes, and the other contains a 15% glucose solution with calcium. Upon mixing, the final solution provides a balanced source of nitrogen (protein) and calories (carbohydrates) along with essential electrolytes including sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, chloride, phosphate, and acetate. It is primarily used to treat or prevent malnutrition and dehydration in hospitalized patients, and has been studied in Phase IIIb trials for both intravenous and subcutaneous administration routes.
