Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Clinitas Hydrate** is a brand-name ophthalmic gel formulated with 0.2% carbomer (Carbomer 980) as the active lubricating agent, along with excipients including cetrimide, sorbitol, sodium edetate, sodium hydroxide, and water for injection. It functions as an artificial tear substitute by forming a long-lasting moisturizing film on the ocular surface, providing prolonged lubrication, hydration, and soothing relief for dry eye symptoms such as grittiness, burning, irritation, and discomfort, particularly effective for nighttime use or in dry environments. Developed and manufactured by Altacor Pharma, it is preservative-containing, suitable for use up to 28 days after opening, and indicated for mild to moderate dry eye conditions, including those exacerbated by wind, sun, screen use, or medications; contact lenses must be removed prior to application with a 30-minute wait before reinsertion.[1][7][10][13]
