clnFTY is an experimental **nanoparticle formulation of fingolimod** designed to improve lymph node delivery for immunosuppression in multiple sclerosis. In the cited preclinical study, the nanoparticles encapsulate FTY720 and are surface-modified with a human CD47 peptide for self-passivation and an L-selectin-targeting aptamer to bind lymphocytes that home to lymph nodes. By exploiting lymphocyte trafficking, clnFTY concentrates fingolimod in lymph nodes, downregulates sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1 signaling in targeted immune cells, and suppresses inflammatory cytokine release. The published work evaluated it in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis models and ex vivo samples from patients with multiple sclerosis; it appears to be an academic research formulation rather than a commercial product.
