Clasco Cream is a topical corticosteroid formulation containing clobetasol propionate, developed and marketed by Ferozsons Laboratories. Clobetasol propionate is a highly potent (Class I) glucocorticoid used for the treatment of various inflammatory and pruritic skin conditions, such as psoriasis and recalcitrant eczemas. It works by binding to cytoplasmic glucocorticoid receptors, subsequently translocating to the nucleus to modulate gene expression. This action leads to the synthesis of anti-inflammatory proteins (such as lipocortins) and the inhibition of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes, effectively reducing skin inflammation, redness, and itching.
