Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug is a topical triple-combination therapy consisting of clobetasol propionate, neomycin sulfate, and miconazole nitrate, marketed by Farber Partners. Clobetasol propionate is a highly potent Class I corticosteroid that binds to the glucocorticoid receptor to exert anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects. Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that targets the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit, effectively inhibiting protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria to treat secondary infections. Miconazole nitrate is an imidazole antifungal agent that inhibits the enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, thereby disrupting ergosterol biosynthesis and compromising fungal cell membrane integrity. This combination is primarily indicated for the treatment of corticosteroid-responsive inflammatory dermatologic conditions where a secondary bacterial or fungal infection is present or suspected.
