Overview
Jinniuer is a topical combination ointment containing the high-potency corticosteroid clobetasol propionate and the retinoid tretinoin (all-trans retinoic acid). It is primarily indicated for the treatment of chronic plaque psoriasis (psoriasis vulgaris). Clobetasol propionate provides potent anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and immunosuppressive effects by activating glucocorticoid receptors, which leads to the inhibition of inflammatory cytokines and mediators. Tretinoin acts on retinoic acid receptors (RARs) to normalize keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation, which helps reduce the scaling and thickness of psoriatic plaques. The combination is designed to improve therapeutic outcomes compared to monotherapy while potentially reducing the risk of skin atrophy associated with potent corticosteroids. Jinniuer is manufactured by Chongqing Huabang Pharmaceutical and is widely used in China.
