Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clobetasol propionate + urea is a topical combination drug consisting of clobetasol propionate, a super-high potency synthetic corticosteroid, and urea, a keratolytic agent and skin moisturizer. Clobetasol propionate acts by activating glucocorticoid receptors in the skin to reduce inflammation, itching, redness, and swelling associated with various corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses such as psoriasis and eczema[1][4][5]. Urea works by breaking down keratin in the outer layer of the skin to soften hyperkeratotic lesions and enhance hydration. The combination is used for inflammatory skin conditions where both potent anti-inflammatory action (from clobetasol) and enhanced penetration or moisturization (from urea) are desired.
