clone 3B4 is a monoclonal antibody targeting membrane-associated Thymidine Kinase 1 (mTK1), a pyrimidine salvage pathway enzyme that is upregulated in malignant tissues and expressed on the cell surface of various cancer types, but not on normal cells. Developed by Brigham Young University and its spinout Thunder Biotech, clone 3B4 was generated using hybridoma technology against epitopes of the tetrameric form of TK1. In preclinical studies, clone 3B4 demonstrated high sensitivity in detecting and quantifying TK1 in serum and on the membrane of lung, prostate, colon, and breast cancer cells. Furthermore, it has shown therapeutic potential by inducing antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) in cancer cell lines, making it a candidate for both diagnostic and immunotherapeutic applications.
