Overview

Clone 8G2B (also known as clone 8G2) is a monoclonal antibody targeting Thymidine Kinase 1 (TK1), a pyrimidine salvage pathway enzyme that is upregulated in malignant tissues and expressed on the cell membrane of various cancer types, including lung, breast, colon, and prostate cancers. Developed by Brigham Young University and its spinout Thunder Biotech, clone 8G2B binds specifically to membrane-associated TK1 and has demonstrated therapeutic potential by mediating antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) against cancer cells in vitro. It also shows utility in the detection and quantification of TK1 in serum and on cell surfaces.
