Overview

Clonixin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the anilino-nicotinic acid derivative class, used primarily for its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antipyretic effects. It is indicated for the relief of pain associated with arthritis, migraines, soft tissue disorders, headaches, muscle aches, joint pain, dental and ear pain, dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps), post-traumatic and post-surgical pain. Clonixin acts by inhibiting cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis which mediates inflammation and pain. It also exhibits some platelet-inhibitory activity. The lysine salt form (lysine clonixinate) is commonly used in clinical practice[1][2][3][4][6][7].
