HCP0911 (branded as Clopid-A) is a fixed-dose combination (FDC) therapy developed by Hanmi Pharmaceutical, containing the antiplatelet agents clopidogrel and aspirin. It is indicated for the prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients already receiving both clopidogrel and aspirin, such as those with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Clopidogrel is a thienopyridine prodrug that, once metabolized, irreversibly inhibits the P2Y12 adenosine diphosphate (ADP) receptor on platelets. Aspirin provides complementary antiplatelet activity by irreversibly inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) enzyme, thereby blocking the production of thromboxane A2. By combining these two mechanisms, HCP0911 provides potent inhibition of platelet aggregation and thrombus formation while improving patient compliance through a simplified dosing regimen.
