Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clopidogrel + tegoprazan is a fixed-dose oral combination under development that includes **clopidogrel**, an antiplatelet prodrug that inhibits the platelet P2Y12 receptor (a purinergic P2 receptor), and **tegoprazan**, a potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that inhibits the gastric proton pump H(+)/K(+)-exchanging ATPase. The combination is being developed for the prevention of gastrointestinal complications in patients requiring antiplatelet therapy, offering gastroprotection with anticipated minimal pharmacokinetic interaction, as tegoprazan shows negligible CYP2C19-mediated drug interaction compared to proton pump inhibitors. It is being developed primarily by Daehwa Pharmaceutical for indications such as gastrointestinal haemorrhage in at-risk cardiovascular patients after percutaneous coronary intervention[1][3][4].
