Cloprednol is a synthetic glucocorticoid, classified as a small molecule drug. It has been investigated primarily for the treatment of asthma and arthritis. As a glucocorticoid, cloprednol acts as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor, exerting anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects by modulating gene expression to inhibit pro-inflammatory signals and promote anti-inflammatory pathways.
