Overview

Cloratadd D is a fixed-dose combination drug product containing loratadine and pseudoephedrine sulfate, developed by EMS S/A and evaluated in clinical trials by Azidus Brasil. Loratadine is a long-acting, non-sedating tricyclic antihistamine that selectively antagonizes peripheral histamine H1 receptors. Pseudoephedrine sulfate is an orally active sympathomimetic amine that exerts a decongestant effect on the nasal mucosa by acting as an agonist at alpha-adrenergic receptors, leading to vasoconstriction. The combination is primarily indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis, including nasal congestion, sneezing, rhinorrhea, and lacrimation.
