Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Cloreto de sódio (sodium chloride) is an inorganic salt used primarily for fluid and electrolyte replenishment, as well as a vehicle or diluent for the administration of other compatible drugs. Developed and manufactured by Halex Istar, it is available in various concentrations, including 0.9% (isotonic saline), 10%, and 20% (hypertonic saline) parenteral solutions. It is indicated for the treatment of extracellular volume depletion, dehydration, sodium deficiency, and metabolic alkalosis. The solution is administered intravenously and is essential for maintaining osmotic pressure and acid-base balance in the body.
