Closantel is a salicylanilide small molecule anthelmintic primarily used in veterinary medicine to treat parasitic infections in livestock such as cattle, sheep, and goats. It is particularly effective against trematodes, including the liver fluke *Fasciola hepatica*, as well as certain nematodes like *Haemonchus contortus* and arthropod larvae.
