Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Closone** is an oral fixed-dose antiplatelet combination of clopidogrel bisulfate and aspirin developed and manufactured by HK inno.N for prevention of atherothrombotic events in patients with coronary artery disease, including after percutaneous coronary intervention. Clopidogrel is a prodrug whose active metabolite irreversibly inhibits the platelet P2Y12 ADP receptor, while aspirin irreversibly inhibits platelet cyclooxygenase and suppresses thromboxane A2 production; together, these complementary mechanisms reduce platelet activation and aggregation. HK inno.N lists Closone as a prescription fixed-dose combination for atherosclerosis and thromboembolism, and Phase 4 studies evaluated its non-inferiority versus separately administered clopidogrel and aspirin after PCI.
