Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Cloti-Xa** is a biosimilar low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) containing **enoxaparin sodium**, developed by Venus Remedies Ltd for the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism. It is administered as a subcutaneous injection in various strengths (e.g., 40mg/0.4ml, 60mg/0.6ml, 300mg multidose) and functions as an anticoagulant by binding to antithrombin III, preferentially inhibiting **factor Xa** over **factor IIa** (thrombin), thereby preventing clot formation and progression. Bioequivalence to the reference product **Clexane** (Sanofi) has been demonstrated in pharmacodynamic studies measuring anti-Xa, anti-IIa activities, TFPI release, and aPTT, with similar safety profiles including risks of bleeding, injection site reactions, thrombocytopenia, and elevated liver enzymes. Primary indications include **deep vein thrombosis (DVT)**, **pulmonary embolism (PE)**, **acute coronary syndrome (ACS)**, and post-surgical prophylaxis.[1][2][3][10]
