Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clotic is a branded, preservative-free 1% clotrimazole otic solution formulated in sterile single-dose vials for the treatment of fungal otitis externa (otomycosis), specifically infections caused by Aspergillus and Candida species in patients with an intact tympanic membrane.[1][2][5][6] As an azole antifungal, clotrimazole inhibits cytochrome P450–dependent enzymes involved in ergosterol synthesis, disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity and leading to growth inhibition and cell death.[1][3] Developed by Laboratorios Salvat/Salvat Pharmaceutical Group and manufactured at its Pharmaloop facility using blow-fill-seal technology, Clotic is the first otic product with clinical evidence and specific regulatory approval for otomycosis and is administered as ear drops, typically twice daily for 14 days.[1][2][3][4][6][7]
