Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Clotrimazole + betamethasone dipropionate + neomycin sulfate is a triple-combination topical cream developed by PSA Chemicals and Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd. (PSA Chem). This small molecule formulation combines three active ingredients to address complex skin conditions involving inflammation, fungal infection, and bacterial infection. Clotrimazole (1%) is an azole antifungal that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes. Betamethasone dipropionate (0.05%) is a potent synthetic corticosteroid that provides anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive effects by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins. Neomycin sulfate (0.5%) is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit. The cream is primarily indicated for the treatment of inflammatory dermatoses, including psoriasis, and skin infections where multiple pathogenic factors are present.
