Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**CLOX-315** is an investigational fixed-dose oral combination of modified-release oxycodone and rapid-release promethazine developed by Charleston Laboratories for acute pain requiring opioid therapy and for prevention or reduction of opioid-induced nausea and vomiting. Oxycodone is a full agonist relatively selective for the mu-type opioid receptor and provides analgesia, while promethazine is an H1 receptor antagonist with antiemetic activity and relatively weak dopamine-receptor antagonist activity. The sponsor describes CLOX-315 as a formulation pairing rapid-release promethazine with modified-release oxycodone. ([charlestonlabs.com](https://charlestonlabs.com/pipeline/acute-pain/))
