Overview

**CLR 1601-PTX** is a preclinical small-molecule phospholipid drug conjugate (PDC) developed by Cellectar Biosciences using their proprietary phospholipid ether (PLE) cancer-targeting delivery platform. It conjugates paclitaxel, a microtubule-stabilizing chemotherapeutic payload, to a PLE analog that selectively binds lipid rafts enriched in cancer cells and cancer stem cells, enabling targeted delivery, improved therapeutic index, and reduced off-target toxicity compared to free paclitaxel. Part of the CLR CTX program, it demonstrated promising in vitro formulation stability and cancer cell killing, with preclinical data updates anticipated in late 2015; it targets a broad spectrum of solid tumors via selective uptake and retention.
