CLR 1700 is a preclinical phospholipid drug conjugate (PDC) chemotherapeutic being developed by Cellectar Biosciences. It utilizes the company's proprietary phospholipid ether (PLE) delivery platform, which is designed to selectively target cancer cells and cancer stem cells by exploiting the high density of lipid rafts in malignant cell membranes. This selective uptake mechanism is intended to deliver a cytotoxic chemotherapeutic payload directly to the tumor site, thereby improving the therapeutic index of the agent by increasing efficacy and reducing systemic toxicity. CLR 1700 is part of a broader pipeline of PDCs that includes CLR 1900 and the lead radiopharmaceutical candidate iopofosine I-131 (CLR 131).
