CLR1502 is a small-molecule, cancer-targeted, non-radioactive optical imaging agent developed by Cellectar Biosciences. It is composed of a proprietary phospholipid ether (PLE) analog conjugated to a near-infrared fluorophore, designed for use in intraoperative imaging of cancer to enable real-time visualization and delineation of tumor margins during surgery. CLR1502 selectively accumulates in cancer cells, providing a high tumor-to-normal tissue fluorescence contrast (excitation/emission 760/778 nm). Potential applications include enhancing tumor resection in various cancer surgeries, with initial studies in preclinical models such as glioblastoma and colorectal cancer[1][2][3][6][7].
