CLS-301

CLS-301 is a potent small molecule integrin antagonist being developed by Clearside Biomedical for the treatment of diabetic macular edema (DME). It is formulated as a suspension for suprachoroidal administration using Clearside's proprietary suprachoroidal space (SCS) injection platform. Integrins are critical proteins involved in cell adhesion, migration, angiogenesis, and immune responses, and their antagonism is intended to address the underlying pathology of DME. Preclinical studies in rabbits have shown that CLS-301 is well-tolerated with no signs of toxicity or intraocular inflammation, supporting its potential as a safe and long-acting therapeutic option.
