CLS2901C is an allogeneic cell therapy consisting of chondrocyte sheets developed by CellSeed. The sheets are produced using chondrocytes isolated from polydactyly-derived extra fingers, which are then cultured on temperature-responsive culture dishes to form a scaffold-free cell sheet. This regenerative medicine product is designed to treat cartilage defects and osteoarthritis of the knee (OAK) by promoting cartilage repair. It is typically used in conjunction with high tibial osteotomy (HTO) to improve clinical outcomes compared to surgery alone. The project has received funding from the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
