Overview

Clusterin siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the expression of the clusterin (CLU) gene. Clusterin is a multifunctional chaperone protein involved in various physiological and pathological processes, including apoptosis, cell cycle regulation, and DNA repair. In oncology research, clusterin siRNA is frequently used to sensitize cancer cells (such as prostate, cervical, and leukemia cells) to chemotherapeutic agents like paclitaxel by inhibiting the anti-apoptotic and pro-survival functions of secreted clusterin. It is also utilized in studies of endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and renal disease to elucidate the signaling pathways mediated by clusterin.
