Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CLX-200 is an engineered tissue therapy candidate being developed by ClexBio for the treatment of Type 1 Diabetes, specifically for patients suffering from hypoglycemia unawareness. The therapy utilizes ClexBio's proprietary VivoSet™ technology to create fully vascularized islet tissue containing intricate microvascular networks. These networks are designed to facilitate rapid anastomosis with the patient's circulatory system upon implantation, ensuring the survival and functional integration of the islet cells. Unlike traditional encapsulation methods, CLX-200 is entirely cell-synthesized and free of artificial materials, which is intended to prevent fibrotic encapsulation and support long-term, responsive insulin secretion for physiological glucose regulation.
