Overview
CLXR-004 is an investigational, off-the-shelf cell therapy being developed by Cardiogeni for the treatment of severe heart failure. The therapy consists of induced Myogenic Progenitor (iMP) cells derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). These progenitor cells are designed to differentiate into functional cardiomyocytes upon delivery, aiming to regenerate damaged heart muscle and restore cardiac output. CLXR-004 is specifically intended for use in patients with end-stage heart failure who are receiving a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD), with the goal of promoting myocardial recovery to the point where the device can potentially be weaned. It is currently in Phase 1 development and has been granted orphan drug designation for this indication.
