CLZ629 is an investigational long-acting injectable (LAI) small molecule being developed by Calibr, the drug discovery division of Scripps Research, for the treatment and prevention of HIV-1 infection. It functions as a capsid inhibitor, targeting the HIV-1 capsid protein (p24). By binding to the capsid, CLZ629 disrupts multiple essential stages of the viral replication cycle, including capsid assembly, disassembly, and the nuclear import of the viral genome.
