CM-352 is a first-in-class small molecule antifibrinolytic agent being developed by Hemostatics, a spin-off from the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) of the University of Navarra. The drug is designed to inhibit the fibrinolytic system, specifically by targeting plasmin, the primary enzyme responsible for blood clot degradation. By preventing premature clot lysis, CM-352 aims to control life-threatening bleeding in conditions such as intracranial hemorrhage (ICH), trauma, and major surgical procedures. It is currently in preclinical development and is positioned as a potentially more potent and selective alternative to existing antifibrinolytics like tranexamic acid.
