Overview

CM383 is a humanized monoclonal antibody developed by Keymed Biosciences for the treatment of early Alzheimer's disease. It targets amyloid-beta (Aβ) protofibrils and plaques, which are implicated in the progression of Alzheimer's disease according to the amyloid cascade hypothesis. CM383 selectively binds to soluble Aβ protofibrils and plaque, reducing their deposition and promoting clearance from the brain. Preclinical studies have shown that CM383 has a favorable safety profile with superior binding specificity, lower immunogenicity, longer half-life, and enhanced in vivo activity compared to other drugs targeting Aβ. The drug is administered intravenously and is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials for safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, and immunogenicity.
