Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CMAB016 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4Rα), currently under development by Mabpharm Ltd. It is designed to mimic the reference product, Dupixent (dupilumab), by inhibiting the signaling of interleukin-4 (IL-4) and interleukin-13 (IL-13), which are key drivers of type 2 inflammation. The drug is being developed for a range of inflammatory conditions, including atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, eosinophilic esophagitis, and prurigo nodularis. As of late 2024, CMAB016 is in the IND-enabling stage, with clinical trial application submission planned for 2026 and a target launch in 2029.
