Overview

CMAB023 is a biosimilar monoclonal antibody developed by Mabpharm that targets thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP). TSLP is an epithelial-derived cytokine that plays a critical role in the upstream initiation of the inflammatory cascade in asthma, influencing both Type 2 (Th2) and non-Type 2 inflammatory pathways. By binding to and neutralizing TSLP, CMAB023 is designed to prevent the cytokine from interacting with its receptor complex, thereby reducing airway inflammation and preventing asthma exacerbations. The drug is currently in the IND-enabling stage of development for the treatment of severe asthma in adults and pediatric patients aged 12 years and older.
