Overview

CMAB809 is a biosimilar of trastuzumab, developed as a monoclonal antibody targeting the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2). It acts as an antagonist to the ERBB2 (HER2) receptor and exerts its antitumor effects through inhibition of HER2-mediated signaling and by inducing antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). The drug is intended for intravenous administration. Its primary indications are for the adjuvant treatment of HER2-overexpressing breast cancer and metastatic gastric cancer. CMAB809 was developed by Taizhou Mabtech Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and has completed phase 1 clinical trials in healthy volunteers and patients with breast cancer[1][2][3][5].
