The CMM2-KLH-DC vaccine is a dendritic cell-based vaccine developed for the treatment of canine malignant melanoma. It utilizes autologous dendritic cells (DC) that are pulsed in vitro with canine melanoma CMM2 cell lysate and keyhole limpet haemocyanin (KLH). The vaccine is designed to induce T cell-mediated immune responses against CMM2 cells in vivo, as evidenced by delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) skin tests showing recruitment of CD8 and CD4 T cells to positively responding sites. This approach aims to leverage the immune system to target and eliminate melanoma cells in dogs.
