Overview

CMN-006 is an allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor-modified cytokine-induced killer (CAR-CIK) cell therapy targeting CD19, currently in preclinical development for the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Developed by CoImmune (now Benecyte), the therapy utilizes a proprietary non-viral Sleeping Beauty gene transfer technology to genetically modify CIK cells. CIK cells are a unique population of cytotoxic lymphocytes that combine the phenotypic and functional properties of both T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. This platform is designed to offer enhanced anti-tumor efficacy with a reduced risk of graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) compared to traditional CAR-T therapies, as CIK cells possess innate killing mechanisms while resisting the induction of GVHD in an allogeneic setting.
