Drug intelligence / Profile preview
CMN-008 is an experimental chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy being developed by CoImmune for the treatment of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). The therapy consists of T cells engineered to express a CAR targeting the CD19 antigen, which is widely expressed on B-cell lineage leukemia cells. Additionally, CMN-008 is designed to incorporate Interleukin-18 (IL-18), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, to enhance the expansion, persistence, and metabolic activity of the CAR-T cells within the tumor microenvironment. This "armored" CAR-T approach is intended to improve therapeutic outcomes and overcome resistance mechanisms associated with conventional CAR-T therapies by modulating the immune environment to favor sustained anti-tumor activity.
