CMPX-2023 is a preclinical-stage therapeutic Alphabody developed by Complix for the treatment of psoriasis. Alphabodies are a proprietary class of small, highly stable engineered scaffold proteins designed to bind with high affinity to challenging targets, including those that are difficult for traditional antibodies to reach. CMPX-2023 specifically targets Interleukin-17A (IL-17A), a central pro-inflammatory cytokine that drives the pathogenesis of psoriasis. In preclinical evaluation using a human skin transplant model in immune-deficient (BNX) mice, CMPX-2023 demonstrated the ability to inhibit the development of psoriatic lesions induced by super-antigen activated peripheral blood cells. The asset is designed for potential topical delivery to provide localized inhibition of IL-17A signaling in the skin while minimizing systemic exposure.
